A refund management system with the full research capability of the Secure Analytic Solutions suite.
Sysrepublic has created a POS integrated rules based engine that will provide sub-second responses to your Point-of-Sale system with an “approve” or ”pending/decline” decision for a refund. The decision of “pending/decline” can be customized to whatever response fits the retailer: corporate or mail-check refund, script only, or outright denial of the transaction. The decision is based on rules (simple or complex) designed by the client based on the data information collected at the register, and other client established risk factors.
Unique features of the system include that rules are flexible and controlled by the client and built into rule sets. Although there can only be one active rule set, the ability to have multiple rule sets built allow the system to quickly response to seasonal changes and turns in business. Rules can be established, modified, or eliminated based on client preferences at any time, providing the ability to respond quickly to trends identified in refund activity.
Being able to test the rules sets on a specific selection of data allows the retailer to understand the impact this will have on their business. This will also assist in identifying where adjustments need to be made in order to target specific geographic areas, store locations, or high-risk product.
Once the rule sets have been tested and one is activated; if the refund is decided as a mail-check or corporate processed refund, then the transactions can be routed to “work-queues”; which can be categorized by specific refund risk, or the personnel assigned to each queue.
Active or Passive Deployment
Sysrepublic’s refund solution can be deployed as a fully integrated POS response and disposition tool (Refund Management) or as an insightful analytics tool that can provide data to influence process improvements, business decisions via policy changes, and systemic controls that protect profitability.
Research and Distribution of Refunds
Secure Refund Management allows pending refunds to be managed and investigated prior to final disposition. The ability to have refunds sent to a working queue allows the process to be customized for the needs of the company – as to what queues are set up, and which employees are assigned to work those queues. In addition, the system can be fully integrated with the Sysrepublic Secure Store application.
Secure Refund Management allows refund activity to be isolated. The ability to run refunds through specific rule sets and to identify refunding behaviors by customers is important to concluding investigative efforts. Refund Management provides historical activity that can be used for successfully documenting refund fraud investigations supporting potential future denials of refund transactions and law enforcement case referrals.
