UK retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) has signed a deal with Sysrepublic, a provider of software products and consultancy services for the retail and hospitality sectors, to implement a solution to help tackle fraud, theft and shrink across its stores. The trial will be rolled out to the entire store portfolio later this year.
“We selected the Sysrepublic Secure system to automatically analyse POS data to detect fraud patterns,” said Darrell Stein, director of IT and logistics at M&S. “The Sysrepublic team was very flexible in assisting us with proving the business case for the project, running a two week trial to achieve this in 120 stores.”
Sysrepublic Secure is a comprehensive retail loss prevention solution that transforms and advances how fraudulent POS activity is identified, tracked, and stopped. Built on the Microsoft .NET Framework, the system allows seamless coordination between centralised loss prevention management teams and field officers to get the most from existing resources. Loss prevention management and field personnel interact with Secure through a Web application designed to minimise the training that users require to become effective with the system.
“M&S selected us to implement our Secure system as we offered the best product and capability,” said David West, managing director, Sysrepublic. “Secure has provided M&S with a solution that can identify the immediate source of loss, built up over time and build the information they need to initiate investigations. At a time when retailers are looking to reduce costs, Secure provides an ideal opportunity to return profit to the bottom line.”
